History
Our football club was founded under name of “Soviet Union FC” on 23 February 2002 by Maxim Bikhovsky also known as Макс Унылый.
The club was admitted to Division 3a of Leinster Football League for 2002-2003 season.
The club name had no connection to communism as many people could think. Most of our players were born in USSR and still have good memories from their childhood about friendship among people from former Soviet Union republics. We are multi-cultural team and promote intercultural integration and social inclusion through sport.
At the end of the season 2008/2009 at the club’s AGM, members decided to change team’s name to “Dynamo Dublin FC”.
The new committee was elected.
During summer 2009 the Club signed sponsorship deals with a number of companies. June McConnell Assoc IAVI – Property Letting and Management Agency, become the Club’s main sponsor, where public house “Smith’s of Phibsboro”, beauty salon “Visona”, hotel “Tilto” and “Decor Studios” become c-sponsors.
The season 2009/10 went well for the Club. Dynamo Dublin FC senior team won “Show Racism a Red Card” Cup.
Three juniors teams were commenced.
During season 2010/11 Dynamo Dublin FC had two teams affiliated to O’Neills Leinster Football League. DDFC 1 competed in Major Division, while DDFC 2 played in Division 1.
Following 2011/12 league win many players left the club to join various teams around Dublin.
Seasons 2012/13/14 DDFC had only 7-a-side senior team playing in Irishtown in Inter7s league.
In 2014 DDFC won All-Ireland 5-a-side competition and went to Five-A -Side World Cup to Dubai.
DDFC had no senior team for the last two years.
